Experiences
Everything you need.
Nothing you expected.
Pool, hammam, steam room, sauna, gym, garden. All of it is for house guests only — we sell no day passes — which is why it is never busy and never booked out from under you.

01 · Water
The Pool & Garden
Arusha’s sky above. Still water below.
A stepped pool set against the colonnade, with a shallow shelf at one end for reading in and a proper length at the other for swimming. The garden runs down from it in indigenous planting — flame trees, acacia, palms that were here before the house was.
Open 06:00 – 20:00 · Towels at the pool house

02 · Ritual
The Hammam
A geography lesson for your skin.
The bath houses of the Swahili coast — Zanzibar’s Hamamni baths among them — have been part of this coastline for centuries. Ours is a private version: a stone bench, a kessa mitt, black soap, and an hour where nobody can reach you.

03 · Heat
Steam & Sauna
Before the mountain, or after it.
A steam room and a cedar sauna, side by side next to the spa. Most guests find them on the evening they come down off Kilimanjaro, and wish they had found them on the way up.
Open 07:00 – 21:00 · No booking needed

04 · Altitude
Fitness Studio
Arusha sits at 1,400 metres. Use it.
Cardio and free weights looking onto the garden, with a trainer available on request. Guests acclimatising for Kilimanjaro tend to use it hard for three days and then stop. Yoga runs under the acacias at seven, most mornings.
Open 24 hours · Trainer by request

05 · Hours
The Garden & Events
The best hour here is the last one.
Cocktails come out at five and the light does the rest. The lawn takes a seated dinner for forty, or a standing party for ninety — weddings, launches, and the occasional very good birthday. Talk to us early; there are only so many evenings.
All of it is
in the rate.
Pool, spa facilities, sauna, steam and gym are included for house guests.
